Molecular genetics: Molecular genetics is a branch of genetics and molecular biology that focuses on the structure and function of genes at a molecular level. It studies how genes are transferred from generation to generation, their expression, regulation, and how they influence the traits and behavior of organisms.

Marcus R. Munafò on Molecular Genetics - Dictionary of Arguments

Corr I 295
Molecular Genetics/Munafò: A reasonable interim conclusion after over ten years of personality genetics research is that main effects of single genetic variants are likely to be of small magnitude, and unlikely to account for more than 1 per cent of phenotypic variance (and possibly much less). In addition, publication of non-significant results is important to avoid disorting the corpus of publicly-available data (Munafò, Clark and Flint 2004)(1). It is also likely that a proportion of the variance in human personality which may ultimately be traced to genetic (or partially genetic) causes is due to gene × gene and gene × environment interactions.
